Current divestment movements are choking off capital to critical industries in the U.S. that support our basic freedoms. Freedom Capital Investment Management is an Impact investment firm focused on investing in industries that promote the prosperity, security and freedom of the United States of America and its allies. These industries include those that promote and enhance energy independence, agriculture independence, second amendment rights, and defense sector industries.
In an effort to shed light on the results of the current divestment movements, as well as provide investors with information concerning alternative investments, we will provide resources to help explain and discuss the state of the capital markets. These resources can be found in the Education section. Please check back frequently for new updates.

Sustainable and Responsible Investing 1995-2014
Small businesses produce 46 percent of America’s Gross Domestic Product. Unfortunately, the US capital markets make it difficult for small and middle-market companies to access capital efficiently. Mutual funds hold $13 trillion of US investable capital, and have been dominated by big market capitalization companies in recent decades. The ten largest mutual fund complexes hold over 53% of total assets, up from 44% in 2000. In addition, the size of the average mutual fund is $1.5 billion, which makes it nearly impossible for mutual funds to focus on small- and middle-market opportunities.
The number of publicly traded companies declined from 8,823 in 1997 (peak year) to 4,916 at the end of 2012. Clearly our nation’s small businesses are falling victim to the success of massive fund complexes that are gaining more control of our investable dollars every day. Freedom Capital recognizes the need for high-quality capital partners and brings institutional quality underwriting and structuring experience to the small and middle markets.
